Are you looking to make new work, or start an arts project focusing on the Queens community? The Queens Art Fund is now accepting applications and we encourage artists and community organizations of all disciplines to apply!

There are 4 funding opportunities available:

  • Community Arts Grant
  • Arts Access Grant
  • New Works Grant
  • Community Engagement Commissioning

Funds cover projects with a public component that benefit Queens communities as well as arts activities taking place within Queens in the 2018 calendar year.

QAF Grants also fund individual artists' costs needed for the execution of a cultural project (direct administration

costs, marketing and publicity costs, as well as supplies and materials). One of last year's recipients, Goussy Celestin, used her $2,000 grant to begin the choreography and production of Anba Dlo: Beneath Water, a multidisciplinary project that combines music, song, dance, and audience participation to explore the power dynamics of society's relationship with water.

As Goussy mentions in her video interview, QCA gives artists a support system and a community where they don’t have to do it on their own.

The application deadline is Thursday, October 26th, and you can check our website for all applications and eligibility guidelines.

Feel free to contact Lynn Lobell, Grants and Resource Director (llobell@queenscouncilarts.org) or Dan Bamba, Grants assistant (dbamba@queenscouncilarts.org) with any questions.

We look forward to hearing from you, and good luck to all of our applicants!
