Reservoir Art Space is pleased to announce "Dark Crystal", where sparkling hole-riddled astronauts meet macabre twisted mermaids. Two worlds collide in this presentation of imaginary explorations into deep inner realms of the human psyche. Kevin Andrew Curran's astronauts inhabit voids of space while Roxanne Jackson's creatures derive from mysterious water depths. These fantastical beings exhibit a willingness to exist together for a time, in order to locate a shard of humanity that will bring balance back to the universe.

Roxanne Jackson is a ceramics artist and mixed media sculptor who has been shown widely throughout the United States and Europe. Her work has been featured in galleries and museums such as Mutter Museum, Grassi Museum, Hunter College, BAM, Catinca Tabacaru, and the Minneapolis Art Institute, amongst others. She has exhibited in China, Portugal, Romania, Germany, England, the US and Canada. Her work has been reviewed by Huffington Post, Hyperallergic, ARTslant, The L Magazine, Chicago Tribune, and many more. Look for her work in the upcoming exhibition GIFT SHOP at Satellite Art Fair in Miami Beach this December.  www.roxannejackson.com

Kevin Andrew Curran grew up in a large family (one of eight kids) splitting time between his mom’s place in Upstate New York and his dad’s place in Northern California. As a teenager Curran began making ceramic sculpture, and later chose to study art, as well as philosophy as an undergraduate. In 2006 he completed his Masters of Fine Arts in Sculpture at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia. Since then Curran has split his time between New York and Tokyo making and showing his own work, as well as curating exhibitions first as the founder and director of Laundromat Gallery and later as a co-founder of AIRPLANE gallery, both in Brooklyn, New York. He is currently a part time faculty member at School of Visual Arts, and lives in Brooklyn with his wife and daughter. www.kevinandrewcurran.com
