Queens Council on the Arts (QCA) 42nd
Annual Benefit Gala, Going Places,
celebrated the exploding creative
and diverse community of Queens and
also commemorated over four decades
of QCA service to the borough,
supporting plans to further develop
as an organization.
Held at the regal Water's Edge
Restaurant in Long Island City in
the shadow of Manhattan's Eastside
skyline, the event drew almost 250
artists, benefactors, community
leaders, businesspeople and lovers
of the arts from
Queens and New York City.
The anticipated Roger Madoff
Literary Fellowship was announced
and honorees included the movers and
shakers of the Queens arts scene -
Daniel Lee, Richard J. Schwartz and
Amy Kaufman.
