Edwin G. Cadiz
holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine
Arts and a Master in Art Education.
His black and white photography,
ceramics, colorful canvases,
collages and provocative designs
grace many community spaces,
libraries, offices and private
homes. Cadiz has exhibited his
work here and in Latin America;
bridging the gap of cultural
experience that is not only his
birthright, but the inspiration for
his work.
The art of Edwin Cadiz began at
Henry Street Settlement with
community murals and ceramics, hence
his strong connection to community
art. He has been part of many
citywide initiatives to beautify the
city through the arts, and has
served on the boards of art
organizations, worked on museums
collaboration projects with youth,
and served on the Queens Council on
the Arts grant review panel.
He designed one of the cows for New
York City's Cow Parade exhibition,
the piece is entitled, "Tropicow"
was exhibited at Battery park.
He taught a studio art class for
young children for over thirteen
years. Cadiz is a member of
Artists Equity, En foco Inc,
Alliance of queens Artists and the
Association of the Hispanic Arts.
Cadiz lives in Long Island City, and
is reemerging with his art through
special commissions to produce art
for residential treatment settings
and new housing developments.
He captures, with honesty and
simplicity, the diverse visual
beauty of the world and expresses it
through his art.
