INDEPENDENCE ART BUILDS COMMUNITY

QUEENS ARTS CONNECTION
Saturday, March 22, 2008, 1:00 - 6:30 p.m.
Queens Museum of Art, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Flushing

A networking event for artists and cultural groups pooling the resources of two dozen art services organizations. Each organization will provide material and answer questions on their services. 

Highlights of the day include:
-Presentations on the New York Foundation of the Arts Source database and Instructions on How to Become a Teaching Artist.

-Curators from the Queens Museum of Art and other Queens arts organizations will provide one-on-one portfolio reviews for selected visual and performing artists.

-Registrants will be offered the opportunity to participate in a slide/reel/poetry slam during which peers will offer feedback on their work in a public setting.

-There will be a live performance by a Queens-based artist.

-The day will conclude with an informal networking reception.
