Antonia has crocheted over 400 plastic bags over lampshade frames to create a sculptural piece that provides pedestrians an unexpected pop of color as they walk by the hanging sculpture.
The artwork was created for the Lewis Latimer House through a Queens Art Fund Grant from the Queens Council on the Arts.
$3,000 pays for one artist and community partnership project. Maybe you can give that on your own today and brighten the lives of a group of people. Maybe 10 people can contribute and make donations of $30 apiece.
Every dollar we raise can transform your daily life into a creative experience, one artist, one project at a time.
Help us to support the work of Antonia Perez and artists like her to create moments of joy in your neighborhoods. Please know how honored we are when you choose to make a donation to Queens Council on the Arts.
