STAR-Senior Theater Acting Repertory is committed to serving the diverse culture of Queens seniors and the community at large by presenting live theatrical programs that will entertain, inspire, and educate our audiences while showcasing its members’ talents and promoting a more positive image of older, “Young at Heart” adults.

The project is organized with a director, asst. director, a musical director and volunteer actor/singers. Rehearsals are twice a week and performances given approx. twice a month. The repertoire consists of scenes from plays and a variety of song selections, including Broadway standards, spirituals, holiday themed and patriotic songs. In the past two years, we have been able to introduce new plays written by our members and other residents of Queens. This has allowed for local playwrights to have their work performed throughout Queens. The Musical presentations are chosen by the musical director and singers.  we continually research the internet to find new materials to present to our diverse audiences and developing our songs' presentations as “sing-a-longs” to engender audience participation and bring smiles to their faces.
