The International Express

Percussia will premiere Quentin Chiappetta's"The International Express", a musical portrait of the famous Queens, NY subway train that passes through many diverse neighborhoods. This concert will also feature the world premiere of the up-and-coming Illinois composer Alexis Lamb's new work "Murmuration", which refers to a phenomenon associated with starlings, which create geometrically complex and visually mesmerizing clouds when they fly in flocks. Rounding out the program will be Percussia's own arrangement of "Espejismos", by Jackson Heights-based, Mexican-born composer Carlo Nicolau.
