CON BRIO ENSEMBLE PRESENTING TWILIGHT CONCERT
AT THE CHURCH-IN-THE-GARDENS IN FOREST HILLS ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 19
Members of the Con Brio Ensemble will be performing works by Romantic composers, Brahms, Mahler, and Dvorak on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 4:30 PM at the Church in the Gardens, 50 Ascan Avenue (3 blocks south of Queens Boulevard) in Forest Hills.
Critically acclaimed violinist, Paul Roczek; cellist,Hamilton Berry, and pianist,Diana Mittler-Battipaglia will perform Dvorak's Trio in B Flat Major opus 21. The program will also include - Brahms Violin Sonata in A Major, and Dvorak's -Silent Woods and Rondo for Cello and Piano. Baritone Darian Worrell will perform Mahler's song cycle, Songs of a Wayfarer.. Paul Roczek is Professor of Violin at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria; Hamilton Berry, cellist, is a graduate of the Juilliard School; Darian Worrell is currently performing in the opera program at the Mozarteum ; and Diana Mittler-Battipaglia is Professor of Music and Choral Director at Lehman College- CUNY.
This concert is made possible in part by the Queens Council on the Arts with public funds from the the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the New York City Council. Celebrating its 38th season, the Con Brio Ensemble performs annual series in Queens and Manhattan and is currently in residence at Lehman College-CUNY in the Bronx.
Admission to the concert will be $12.00 ($ 10.00 for students and senior citizens)
