ABOUT ERIN TREACY
Using abstract and impressionistic forms, Erin Treacy works to deconstruct our sense of space and movement, allowing color and shape to be our only guide. The fluidity of time and thought guide, interfere, and monitor everything we do. Rather than run from these complexities she play with them, exposing the potential for uneasy balance in each piece of artwork. Erin Treacy resides in Sunnyside. Recent exhibitions include Reservoir Art Space, Brooklyn, NY, Flux Art Fair, NY, NY (2016), Boxheart Gallery, Pittsburgh (2015, 2011, 2009), Chain Theater, Queens NY (2015, 2013), University of Oklahoma (2013), and Plywood Gallery, Baltimore (2011). She has been awarded fellowships throughout the US and Europe, including The Sam and Adele Golden Foundation for the Art and Cill Rialaig Arts Centre. Treacy was granted the Fulbright Research Fellowship in Painting, 2009-2010, to Ireland. She earned her BFA from Pratt Institute her MFA from UMASS Dartmouth.
