ACP Jamaica Awardee Y? Guyadin invites all to join his creative team for open runs of his in-progress project, Shooter, an experimental theatre project in which participants confront the complex power dynamics between victim and perpetrator, role-playing as the “shooter” or the “shot” in an incident of gun violence.
You're invited to be part of the artist's creative process.
Your input is valuable to the creative team, and will inform this new work's development. These 5 "open run" performance dates are being used to collect images and testimony from participants that will be on display for a culminating exhibition on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning and will also be archived on the our website for use beyond the premiere.

All "Open Run" dates will be hosted at the address above. Each day consists of two runs, one at 5pm and another at 7pm. For 5:00pm runs, please arrive by 4:45pm; for 7:00pm runs, please arrive by 6:45pm.
All dates are free and open to the public; however, space is limited; you must register and receive confirmation to attend.
Shooter runs in two acts. ACT I is optional, and ACT II represents the ACP Awardee's autobiographical performance piece.
Act I is an optional, participatory experience where 8 audience members are invited to role play as both the victim and the perpetrator using a replica (unloaded) weapon in a controlled and symbolic representation of a gun crime. "
Act II is a performance by ACP Awardee Y? Guyadin exploring an autobiographical experience of these roles and insights in to the society that breads these traumatic embodiments.
