Meet Lilian Chen

The Queens Council on the Arts Junior Board (QCAJB) is comprised of a variety of young professionals from diverse occupational fields and backgrounds, each of whom has been hand picked for the opportunity. QCAJB members are mentored by the Board of Trustees to become ambassadors for our organization, develop leadership, and bring new skills and perspectives to the boardroom table.

Lilian Chen, Freelance Events Producer

Born and raised in Queens, Lilian Chen, it was here that she developed her passion for the arts and culture so abundant in her borough. She is currently working as Operations Coordinator for the soccer media company, COPA90. In her spare time, she remains a dedicated advocate of her beloved borough by sitting on the Board of Directors of the Hunters Point Parks Conservancy.

All of this would not be possible if it was not for her previous role at COFFEED as an Events and Catering Coordinator and Director of Relations that gave her a better perspective on her community and the people that work to make it better. She cut her teeth in the fundraising world while getting her degree in Arts Management and minoring in Art History and History at Purchase College. It was during her studies where she would raise funds for the arts as a Development Assistant for campus arts organizations, the Neuberger Museum of Art, and the Performing Arts Center.

In her time with the Queens Council on the Arts, she wants to continue to do her part to support creativity and individual artists.
