Creative Conversations in Jamaica: 2.22.17

Kendal Henry, Director of Percent for Art at the Department of Cultural Affairs, joined us for this Creative Conversations meeting at the SUNY Queens Educational Opportunity Center. "Creative Conversations" is a signature program of the Queens Council on the Arts. It is a monthly dinner meeting hosted in different Queens neighborhoods where artists have the opportunity to network, organize, meet community stakeholders, and develop strategies for community advocacy. It is open to artists and the general public.

Grant Writing Workshop in Jamaica

Senator James Sanders Jr.'s Grant Writing Workshop draws over 100 attendees with some traveling from as far away as Pennsylvania. The workshop was taught by Lynn Lobell and Molaundo Jones of the Queens Council on the Arts.

State Senator James Sanders Jr. (D-Rochdale, Far Rockaway) hosted a free grant writing workshop Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at August Martin High School in Jamaica to educate the community how to obtain funding to start or expand a project or organization. More than 100 people attended the two hour class with some traveling from as far away as Pennsylvania.

Shawn Rene Graham, Deputy Director of Programs and Services at The Field (the field.org), participated in this "Creative Conversations" meeting and shared resources offered at The Field.
